This a a Fundraiser for Paige Thomas , Moree RSL Club 30/3/19 starting @ 7pm below is a small Bio on Paige Thomas.
Tuesday the 7th of August Paige (aged 2) was playing with her cousins after school when things took a turn for the worse, Paige was flown to Tamworth that night and onto Sydney- Randwick Children’s Hospital ICU the following day.
After having an MRI completed, the specialist’s determined that this was a relatively unknown disease know as Acute Necrotizing Encephalopathy (ANE).
ANE is a rare, severe and rapidly progressing disease affecting the brain, which develops shortly after a viral infection.
As you can imagine, it was hard to process all of this information and we were all in total shock and simply devastated.
This diagnosis raises a lot of fears and concerns as you can imagine. We all want to be at Paige’s side and to offer support for Paige’s parents, Jess and Adam (better know as Hap, an Active member of the Big Sky HOG Chapter and Dealer Principal at Thomas Lee Harley Davidson).
As the future is uncertain and we do not yet know the extent or cost of Paige’s rehabilitation.
But the good news is Paige is recovering! The progress that she has made in the past 4 months is amazing but the cost to her family has been massive (both emotionally and financially) the support that has been offered by friends, family and the community as a whole has greatly reduced the toll that has been taken.
But and this is the most important of all – There is still more that we can do
